The aim of the game is to repair the broken pillars of time as requested by the Toki no Roujin (elder of time) by catching monsters, battling with them, and resolving various events involving Sanrio characters. The games are role-playing games, specifically monster battling games similar to Pokémon. Unlike specifically Hello Kitty, the games can be seen as like a tribute to Sanrio in general featuring many Sanrio characters from Sanrio's history up to the 1990s, including the rare character Monster Zakki from Donragon, although Hello Kitty appears as a common character in various key locations like rest houses and shops, as well as the Nurse Kitty variant. These games were never released outside of Japan, and the text remains in Japanese although there was a started attempt for a fan translation which never came to fruition. Although some characters return in those games, the story is different and original licensed characters are removed. This development group seems to have later formed their own company called Timenet, after which they released games with related elements to these called Space-Net: Cosmo Red and Blue (unlike the predecessor they cannot be played on a non-color Game Boy). Kako Hen is the past version taking place in the past, and Mirai Hen is the future version but later in the game it is possible to travel one-way into the other time period by the ladder of time. They can also be played on the Game Boy but with additional color features disabled, and are supported by/have their own border for the Super Famicom's Super Game Boy attachment. You can help Glitch City Wiki wiki by expanding it.Sanrio Timenet: Kako-Hen and Mirai-Hen are two very similar video games for Nintendo's Game Boy Color developed and self-published by Imagineer. Tose is rumoured to be involved in development of this game, supported by Mirai-Hen's appearance in an obfuscated image of many Game Boy games, released by Tose in their 2001 corporate guide. It is unknown whether this was in response to users not being able to use the Jetboat due to this glitch. On the official Japanese Imagineer website, there is a question and answer about how to use the Jetboat item on a user support page for Sanrio Timenet. Note: This glitch has only been tested so far on Kako-Hen, the "Past" version. If the player tries to use the Jetboat (Japanese: ジェットボート) item after pressing Select from the Start screen, it will not work even if they are facing water/ground from on the water surface, but if they use it after pressing B on the overworld, it will work. The names after the prefix translate to Past Edition and Future Edition. Sanrio Timenet: Kako-Hen and Mirai-Hen (Japanese: サンリオタイムネット 過去編, 未来編) are Japan-only monster battling games for Nintendo Game Boy. Please note that these glitches only exist in the Japanese versions of this non-Pokémon game, or are otherwise from a game which was only released in Japan.
